The main aim is to assist Managers, Human Resources, and employees in the prevention of and the effective management of poor performance.
This policy sets out a procedure to determine whether the employee failed to meet a specific performance standard. The performance standard must be known to the employee, or the employee must reasonably be expected to have knowledge of the standard. Furthermore, this policy will assist managers and HR to help the employee overcome the poor performance in a fair manner. Only once it has been established that the employee cannot overcome the poor performance through assistance, guidance, and training, can the Manager, with assistance of HR proceed to fairly terminate employment.
