EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Eligible employees at Montego Pet Nutrition are provided a range of benefits.

Several of the programs (such as unemployment insurance) cover all employees in the manner, prescribed by law.

Employees who earn under a certain threshold salary per month, will automatically qualify for this company benefit. This is free and at no cost to the employee, and you have an option to add your spouse & children onto the plan, but you will be responsible for the additional monthly costs. (Please contact your HR department to find out more about the cost to add family members to your plan).
This plan covers basic health care for members and includes Doctors, Optometrists and Dentists visits.
Ensure that the doctor / specialist is registered as a Health4Me network practitioner.

No need to sit in long queues at a hospital / clinic
Medicine is included with every consultation
Receives medicine from doctor if it is a Dispensing Surgery or a non-dispensing doctor will write a prescription to collect medicine from Clicks, Dis-Chem, or Medi-Rite pharmacies.
2 x Specialist visits per year per member (registered on the network).
Register to receive Acute & Chronic medication: 26 Chronic illnesses covered – i.e., High blood pressure, Diabetes. Asthma, Heart disease, etc.
Basic blood tests & black and white X-Rays included
HIV & Maternity Benefits
One Flu vaccination per year included at no cost to employee

All Employees can join Discovery Medical Aid / Hospital Plans. Cost will be determined on the plan options you choose, and the percentage subsidy received from Montego Pet Nutrition.
Access to Doctors and private Hospitals covered by the specific plan which you are a member of.
This is the more expensive medical option.
You can add your spouse & children onto the plan. Montego will also subsidise part of the costs for your spouse and up to three (3) children.

All employees are automatically added as a member onto Montego Pet Nutrition’s choice of Provident Fund – Sanlam Umbrella Provident Fund.
Employees pay five percent (5%) of basic monthly salary (automatically deducted).
Montego contributes five percent (5%) of your basic monthly salary.
You can increase your monthly contribution if you would like to save more for retirement
You can discuss this option with the HR Department.

Once you reach the age of sixty-five years (65), and retire, the lump sum available, will be paid over to you.
Should you pass away, the amount accrued will be paid over to the family member(s) you nominated as a beneficiary.
Life Insurance (approved) included as a benefit.
Should you pass away – three times (x3) your annual salary will be paid over to the family member(s) you nominated as a beneficiary(ies).

Should you or a loved one pass away, this includes children fourteen (14) years and older, a top up amount of fifteen thousand rand (R15 000,00) will be paid over to the family member(s) you nominated as a beneficiary.
If a child under the age of fourteen (14) years, but older than six (6) years, pass away, you will receive seven thousand five hundred rand (R7 500,00) towards their funeral.
If a child under the age of six (6) years / stillborn pass away, you will receive three thousand seven hundred and fifty rand (R3 750,00) towards their funeral.
Only your qualifying spouse & children – no other family members.
Disability & Critical Illness Insurance (approved). Remember to update your beneficiary nomination whenever there are any changes.
